nearness & Proximity

To YOU, these Mom and Dad and family members

  who took a tragic shattering

    loss of a loved one,

          yesterday, the 14th.

All well meaning words from others,

    near and far,

hardly dent the gulf of hurt and sadness

that lays sullen deep in your hearts.

One can only imagine the anguish of

      non-stopping thoughts.

One can only imagine the horror of

deep feelings felt deep in your gut.

The depth of hurt and gap

     is beyond words and ideas.

I extend my heartfelt and deep remorse

    To ‘feather your way’

       and soften this blow.

I trust you will come to solace.

Yours and others lives will

     always have a hole,

       a there-ness presence

         as lives progress.

Progressions of extending yourselves

    the wholeness of expressions

       you treasure to share.

The proximity of people and life

may spread like a pebble in a pond

       rippling like sliding ripples,

              out and further out:

       two days

       week/month

       season

       cycles & cycles of seasons

           and richer into

                 educational milestone arrived

                 new families and generations

                      and further and further into

                            continuing progression of peoples

                                 decades

                                 centuries

                                 centuries

                                      to come.
